For it’s second year, SWP helped produce Times Square’s sole music festival, in conjunction with the iconic brand, CBGBs. The festival tops off a week of live performances, film premiers, and open forum discussions with notable individuals from various industries across the city. While the venue remains closed, it’s clear that its name and reputation is still very much alive in New York.
2013′s festival expanded three additional blocks in Times Square from the previous year, and had stages on 46th Street and 54th Street. The day was filled with performances by The Divine Fitts, Grzzley Bear, James Murphy, and was headlined by My Morning Jacket. The acts took to the stage with Times Square’s iconic theaters and billboards in the background. Between the stages on Broadway were food and art vendors, a climbing wall courtesy of Brooklyn Boulders, and a half-pipe with the Red Bull Skateboard team entertaining the crowd.
The festival grew exponentially from its previous year, and all parties are excited in anticipation of the future.
